Gary Harold Edge was born in Lanett, Alabama, October 6, 1952. Upon graduating from High School in 1971, he attended the University of Georgia and the Christian College of Georgia. At the University, Gary earned the Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Religion and Philosophy, the Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, and at Christian College of Georgia he earned a Bachelor of Science in Ministry.
Gary earned his Master of Divinity from the Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, Kentucky in 1985. He was Ordained into the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in June 1985. Gary has served churches in Georgia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana and Alabama.
Gary is married to Stephanie Chism Edge and they have four grown children, Michael, who lives in Tuscaloosa with his wife, Katherine and their two children, Felix and Claudia, Betsy who lives in Birmingham, Noah who resides in Tuscaloosa, and Garrett who resides in Fosters, with his wife, Brittanee and their two daughters, Charlee and Tatum.
Gary‘s hobbies range from gardening, landscaping, hiking the AT trail, and any sport that is played with a ball. He also enjoys a good conversation on the front porch with a cup of coffee in his old rocking chair!
